本片女主人公在政府单位打拼多年，终于坐上了梦寐以求的部长位置，为了庆祝自己的晋升，她在自己家中设宴，邀请好友们来参加自己的晋升聚会。聚会在轻松快乐的氛围中正常进行着，女主人公的丈夫突然宣布了自己患上不治之症的噩耗，所有人炸开了锅，随之而来的是每个人的不堪回首的事情也一一显露出来......女主人公在晋升中相继出轨，刚获得幸福的同性恋人接受不了经历的过去......一个神志不清却仍然故作镇定的被出轨的复仇者......一个个真相陆续爆出，电影中每一个人的特征都是生活中我们的夸张和放大，在这个场景如此简单的客厅、院子、卫生间、厨房上演了一场悲剧。
