铁柱在音乐学博士隋晓菲（黄圣依饰）的引荐下，得到英国著名音乐教授的指导。同时，他与隋晓菲也建立起了一种奇妙的感情。学成归国后，铁柱将有机会和世界巨星VITAS（维塔斯饰）及意大利版苏珊大妈玛索拉（苏珊大妈饰）同台献艺。但是，他质朴的情怀却和娱乐圈格格不入，使得他走上了一条极为坎坷的成名之路。
